Former Nordiques general manager Maurice Filion passes away at age 85​ ​

Maurice Filion coached the Quebec Remparts from 1969 to 1972. He was the coach and later general manager of the Nordiques until 1990.

Former Quebec Nordiques’ general manager, Maurice Filion, passed away on July 28 at age 85. The news of Filion’s death spread very quickly throughout the province of Quebec hockey world.

Filion, a Montreal native, came to Quebec in 1969 to be the head coach of the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
