Hermann Gruenwald (second from left), owner of the former Dominion Corset company located in La Fabrique until 1988, poses with former employees Gaston Lavoie, Françoise Girard and Nicole Chevrette, and Maryse Lavigne of Parks Canada, beside the commemorative plaque.

La Fabrique, a large red brick building with its square medieval-inspired water tower at the corner of Boulevard Charest and Rue Dorchester, really stands out in the Saint-Roch district.

This building has a rich history dating back to 1871. For over 90 years, it was the home of Dominion Corset and Creations Daisyfresh, leaders in Canada’s lingerie industry.
