St. John’s, Nfd. – The Brig Neptune, from Quebec bound to London with staves, timber etc., was cast away at St. Shores, near Cape Pine, St. Mary’s Bay in a thick fog, and went to pieces, the crew were saved, but had suffered much from famine and fatigue before they had arrived in Trepassey.
