New France festivities bring history to life in Lower Town

Visitors took fencing lessons, one of the many activities at the 22nd Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France.

Elegantly dressed noblemen and noblewomen in 17th- and 18th-century attire, members of the bourgeoisie and simple peasants appeared throughout Quebec City’s Lower Town during the 22nd annual Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France (FNF), dressed as if they had just stepped from the pages of history.
