Home buying a good investment in Québec

According to the 17th Annual RBC Homeownership Survey, 90 per cent of Quebec residents believe that buying a house or condominium is a good investment, with 26 per cent saying they are likely to purchase a home in the next two years, up from 22 per cent in 2009.

Porter Airlines upgrades Quebec City To Toronto service

"We're going from a leisure schedule to a schedule that's more business oriented," said Porter Airlines spokesman Brad Cicero.

Cicero was referring to the new schedule that daily will take more passengers from Jean Lesage International Airport to within minutes of downtown Toronto in a little over an hour and a half.

Port of Quebec has recordbreaking year

With nearly 27 million tons of goods handled in 2007, the Port of Quebec has had a recordbreaking year, jumping 15 per cent compared to 2006 and 75 per cent compared to the tonnage of goods handled in 2001. The news followed the release of the port’s annual activity report and audited financial results on August 29.

Hilton, Loews strike deal with workers, end labour dispute

Hotel workers at the Hilton Hotel and the Loews Concorde Hotel in Quebec voted in large majorities on August 29 to accept contracts from their employers.

The employees’ acceptance of the proposed contract has resolved a labour conflict that lasted nearly four months.

Hôtel Classique workers strike a deal

Staff at l’Hôtel Classique voted unanimously in favour of a contract proposed by the hotel on August 11.  mployees at five hotels in Quebec City now remain without contracts. Those employees have yet to use the 72-hour bank of strike time voted for on July 23.
