Nike Canada has become the official supplier of basketball shoes for Champlain St. Lawrence College's English Basketball Camps.

CQSB Basketball Tournament

Shawinigan High School will play host to the 11th edition of the Central Quebec School Boards Basketball Tournament this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Games will be played at Shawinigan High School and at Collège de Shawinigan.

Nineteen teams representing ten high schools will be competing for banners in three different categories.

Québec City Kebs play double whammy

Saturday provided a double whammy for the Quebec City Kebs, who not only lost a heartbreaker to the Maryland Greenhawks in the season's first meeting between the two teams, but also saw centre Jonas Pierre go down for the season during what has become a difficult road trip for the locals.

The olympic torch continues its way west toward the 2010 games in Vancouver after making stops last week in the Old City and at the Valcartier military base.

The torch then made stops in Trois Rivieres, Drummondville and Sherbrooke, among other Quebec locales this week before heading to the Montreal area.

Laval one win away from championship game

The top-ranked Laval Rouge et Or are one win away from playing host to the Vanier Cup championship after easily beating the University of Montreal Carabins Saturday.

The locals scored on their first three possessions and never looked back en route to a 31-7 win and a seventh straight Dunsmore Cup title, in front of 13,852 fans.

Old cross-town rivalries between the St. Patrick's Fighting Irish and the Quebec High School Blazers were renewed on the court this weekend at the Central Quebec School Board's annual senior basketball tournament.
