Dominic Haerinck plays the Irish bouzouki and sings “The Great Selkie of Sule Skerry” at a Burns Day presentation of Scottish folklore held at Habitations Valcartier seniors’ residence in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier.

Robert “Robbie” Burns once said, “There is no such uncertainty as a sure thing,” and to many Canadians this saying applies to our winters. We are sure the snow will fall, but not so sure about the road conditions. For this reason, the Burns celebration at Habitations Valcartier, arranged by Jayne Doddridge of Valcartier Elementary School, was postponed from Jan. 20 to Jan. 27.
