The story behind Rue Alfred-Rouleau

This street in the Pointe-de-Sainte-Foy district of Quebec City was named in honour of Alfred Rouleau (1915-1985), a businessman and president of the Fédération du Québec des Caisses Populaires Desjardins, Quebec’s largest credit union. Born in Sherbrooke, he was elected president of the federation in 1972 and served until 1981. 

Elisa-Maude McConnell helps bring smiles to young faces

Elisa-Maude McConnell is a speech-language pathologist at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval (CHUL) in Quebec City. In mid-January, she volunteered to go on a mission with Global Smile Foundation (GSF) in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador, a small Central American country.

What a leap the Quebec Art Company [QAC] has taken with this show! The large cast of many new faces and performers … reflects what it is to be a member of the English-speaking community. It represents an ethnically diverse community with a wide age range and many skills.

The Vidéotron Centre was filled with the sound of hundreds of voices speaking many languages on April 14, as the Ville de Québec held its annual event to welcome new arrivals to the Capitale-Nationale region. It was party time inside the lobby of the huge sports arena.
