Several Ville de Québec outdoor pools opened for the summer season starting June 9, including the Marina Saint-Roch pool. Sunday’s warmer weather, with a high of 25 C, was the invitation many bathers needed to get wet. According to the Ville de Québec website, swimming and wading pools are open when the outside temperature is above 18 C, except when storms or day-long showers intervene. In extreme heat, the pools may extend their opening hours. The Marina Saint-Roch has a heated rectangular semi-Olympic-sized pool (25 metres long) with two diving boards of different heights, situated on the St. Charles River shoreline. A children’s wading pool is also on site and entry is free. Most remaining outdoor pools will open for the regular summer season on June 22. (Photo by Danielle Burns)
