Sharks and rays have extremely specific nutrient needs and need to be fed independently; they are trained to claim their food when they spot a target that is picked individually for each of them. Eventually, some of them just learn to come whenever a human gets near. Marmelade and her potential partner Litchi are young eagle rays caught recently in the Mediterranean; Aquarium du Québec staff hope they might reproduce, allowing them to raise stingrays in captivity instead of having to take them out of the wild.
