Augustines recognized for contributions to health care

Sisters admire the plaque which recognizes the contributions of the Augustines of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec to health care in Canada over 375 years. Standing beside the plaque are MP Rémi Massé, Monseigneur Louis Corriveau of the diocese of Quebec, Sister Lise Tanguay, Superior General of the Fédération des monastères des Augustines de la Miséricorde de Jésus, Lieutenant-governor Michel Doyon and Maryse Lavigne of Parks Canada.

A special ceremony took place in the Augustine Monastery de la Miséricorde de Jésus à Québec on August 1 and a plaque was unveiled that will be later be installed in the courtyard of the Monastery. The large bronze plaque was provided by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada and Parks Canada.
