The old Peugeot ahead of the Honda on the road out of Porto Novo, Benin, is loaded with bananas on the roof and in the trunk.

It is 5:30 p.m. I’ve just finished a training session in Cotonou, Benin’s largest city, and I’m giving a workshop in the much smaller town of Pobè, where I live, at 8 tomorrow morning.
