Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. – VEQ Out and About visits the Musée de la civilisation. Members of the community ages 50 and over are invited to join us as we discover the exhibits at the Museum of Civilization on Rue Dalhousie. Free admission, and transportation. Friday, Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m. – Travellin’ Toddler Time is a free activity in English for 3- and 4-year-olds and their parents/grandparents or caregivers. Oct. 19 (at 7 p.m.), Oct. 22, 24 and 26 (at 8 p.m.) – Opéra de Québec presents Verdi’s La Traviata at the Grand Théâtre, sung in the original Italian with French surtitles. Sunday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Craft Sale at A.S. Johnson/St. Patrick schools, 919 Rue Mooney Ouest in Thetford Mines. Hot dogs, drinks, sweets and coffee sold at noon. A painting by artist Roland Dostie will be raffled off. Sponsored by the School Foundation.

Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. – Open Book Night: Intercultural Dialogue featuring Poetry Panel with Phoebe Wang and Canisia Lubrin at the Morrin Centre, 44 Chaussée des Écossais. Be part of this intercultural experience by contacting to register.

Oct. 24, 25 and 26 – SNACS Book Fair at the Eastern Quebec Learning Centre. Books to donate can be dropped off at the EQLC, Quebec High School, the Jeffery Hale Pavilion or the Valcartier Family Centre before Oct. 18. Volunteers are needed to help sort the books and set up the tables during the week of Oct. 21.
