Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. – The Aurian Haller Band is launching a fourth studio album, Songs to See by, at La salle de l’Arquemuse, 151 Rue Saint-François Est. This concept album is based on the work of Canadian visual artists from coast to coast. The quartet includes local musicians Aurian Haller, Paul Hinton, Daniel Marcoux and Barry Nameth. Nov. 17 – The Club Musical de Québec has announced its 2022 season. Tickets for five concerts from February to May are now available online. For more information, visit clubmusicaldequebec.com.
Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m. – The Orchestre symphonique de Québec (OSQ) presents Lortie et Liszt at the Grand Théâtre, under the baton of guest director Joshua Weilerstein. Pianist Louis Lortie will play Liszt’s Concerto for piano No. 2. Also on the program are Ethel Smyth’s On the Cliffs of Cornwall and Brahms Symphony No. 2. For tickets, visit osq.org.
Nov. 24 to Dec. 23 – The German Christmas Market returns, bigger and better than ever. Old Quebec will be transformed into a veritable Christmas fairytale as Place d’Armes and Place D’Youville are added to the traditional setup in the City Hall Gardens and Rue Sainte-Anne. Nov. 26 to Dec. 5 – Salon des Artisans de Québec at the Centre de Foires (ExpoCité), 250A Rue de l’Exposition, offers visitors exclusive products created by over 200 local artisans. Open Monday to Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry and parking are free. Happy Christmas shopping! Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. – The Orchestre symphonique de Québec (OSQ), directed by Gordon Gerrard, presents En attendant Noël at the Grand Théâtre, with pianist Jon Kimura Parker who will play Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Also on the program are Strauss II’s Emperor Waltz, Leroy Anderson’s Christmas Festival and excerpts from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Suite de la veille de Noël and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.
