Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m. – The Orchestre symphonique de Québec (OSQ) presents Lortie et Liszt at the Grand Théâtre, under the baton of guest director Joshua Weilerstein. Pianist Louis Lortie will play Liszt’s Concerto for piano No. 2. Also on the program are Ethel Smyth’s On the Cliffs of Cornwall and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2. For tickets, visit osq.org.

Nov. 24 to Dec. 23 – The German Christmas Market returns, bigger and better than ever. Old Quebec will be transformed into a veritable Christmas fairytale as Place d’Armes and Place D’Youville are added to the traditional setup in the City Hall Gardens and Rue Sainte-Anne. Also on the program are Strauss II’s Emperor Waltz, Leroy Anderson’s Christmas Festival and excerpts from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Suite de la veille de Noël and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker.
