CBC Radio journalists and producers were really in the Christmas spirit as they treated guests leaving the VEQ Holiday Happy Hour to some carol singing. “The Twelve Days of Christmas” was a great hit, and many people joined in as they finished with “a partridge in a pear tree!”

It may be cold outside but things are heating up with the Community Christmas Hamper Campaign.
The CCHC is in its final week and Delivery Day is fast approaching. As we speak, volunteers are busy sorting and packing all the non-perishable food donated by so many people in our community to help families who might otherwise not be able to put a decent meal on the table during the holiday season. Boxes laden with donated foodstuffs plus fresh meats, vegetables, fruit, milk, eggs, and more will be delivered on Dec. 15.
Thank you for everything you have already done to help. The VEQ Holiday Happy Hour at the Morrin Centre on Dec. 5 was a great success and some 130 guests made monetary donations from the cash sales at the bar, and contributed non-perishable foods to the collection boxes.
Financial gifts to the 2018 Community Christmas Hamper Campaign are rising, but there is still a way to go to pay for all the fresh food added to each hamper. If you have not already done so, please make an ONLINE donation to the Hamper Campaign at and you could win a great prize, thanks to CBC Radio 104.7 FM.
Six winners will be drawn from among the names of all ONLINE donors: two grand prizes as shown in the photo (CBC coffee cups, toques, pens, notebooks and T-shirts) and four second prizes of a CBC T-shirt and a tote bag. Winners will be notified on Jan. 16 by email, and then announced (with their consent) on the Hamper Campaign’s Facebook page.
Donations may also be mailed to the Community Christmas Hamper Campaign at 2000 - 1270 Chemin Sainte-Foy, Quebec, G1S 2M4.
See next week’s edition for a full-colour report on D-Day!
