Not many former presidents of the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec (LHSQ, better known as the Morrin Centre) have been astrophysicists or have their names on a map. Edward David Ashe, president of the society in 1866, 1867 and 1873, is recognized as the first astrophysicist in Canada and has a landmark in British Columbia named after him.
