Sidney Crosby (in red shirt, front row centre) paid a visit to Canada’s men’s soccer team after their Copa America quarterfinal victory over Venezuela on July 5 in Arlington, Texas. Canada won on penalty kicks (4-3) after the score was tied 1-1 after regulation. The Canadians played Lionel Messi and Argentina in the semifinal on July 9 (result not available at press time). If Canada wins, they will play in the final on July 14 in Miami, against the winners of the Colombia-Uruguay semifinal. A loss would send Canada to the consolation final on July 13, in Charlotte, N.C., against the losers of the Colombia-Uruguay game. Win or lose, the Canadian team is guaranteed to get the best Copa America result in its history. (LL) (Photo courtesy of Canada Soccer via X)
