Infielder Lachlan Fontaine, from North Vancouver, B.C., won’t get a chance to play against fellow Canadians in the tournament the Capitales wanted to organize this summer.

The Quebec Capitales’ president, Michel Laplante, officially announced that the plan for a Canadian baseball tournament, co-organized with the Trois-Rivières Aigles, has been vetoed by provincial health authorities.
