The cast and crew of Kuessipan walked the red carpet at the QCFF at the Palais Montcalm. The screenplay was co-written by author Naomi Fontaine, on the far left, and director Myriam Verreault, third from the right in the back row. In the centre of the group are actors Yamie Grégoire (Shaniss) in a red dress and Sharon Ishpatao-Fontaine (Mikuan) with blue hair.

Kuessipan shows everything that is wonderful, uplifting and difficult about growing up in Uashat, an Innu community next to Sept-Îles, Quebec. The film’s première on Sept. 18 at the Quebec City Film Festival (QCFF) shone the spotlight on Innu culture.
