David Rompré (on podium), musical and artistic director of Les Rhapsodes, thanks Antoine Malette-Chénier (seated at harp) for accompanying the 34-voice choir as well as playing many traditional Christmas melodies solo. The Noëls d’hier, Noëls d’aujourd’hui concert held at the Palais Montcalm on Dec. 19 marked the opening of the choir’s 60th anniversary season. It featured a mixture of both old and new French-language Christmas songs, some of which were blended with seasonal poetry by well-known French and Québécois poets, especially arranged for the choir by composer François Couture.
