Lights, camera, movies? Maybe!

The last drive-in movie theatre in the region closed in Saint-Nicolas in 2014. In 2016, the Carrefour international de Théâtre recreated the drive-in vibe near Les Nouvelles Casernes for Où tu vas quand tu dors en marchant. This summer, Mayor Régis Labeaume is proposing to bring back the real thing.

When Mayor Régis Labeaume proposed the possibility of free drive-in movies at three sites around Quebec City at a press conference on April 22 (see Peter Black’s article on page 2), the city’s entertainment-starved press and public jumped on the idea. However, the business community and public health authorities still have some reservations.
