Alexandra Dariescu’s dramatic performance of Edvard Greig’s Piano Concerto in A minor held the audience enthralled at the Grand Théâtre. Guest conductor Enrique Mazzola can just be seen behind the open piano. The Orchestre Symphonique de Québec also performed Smetana’s The Moldau and Beethoven’s Eroica.
On March 11, a full house was privileged – and fortunate – to attend what was likely the last concert to be held at the Grand Théâtre for the next 30 days, possibly longer, depending on the duration of the COVID-19 closures.
