OBITUARY: Margaret (Sutton) BLANCHET, 1922-2017

Mrs. Margaret (née Sutton) Blanchet, wife of the late Georges Blanchet, daughter of the late Mable Greene and the late Cornelius Sutton, passed away on September 9, 2017, at the age of 95. She lived at Saint Brigid’s Home in Quebec City.

The bilingual funeral service will be held on September 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Church, 1145 ave. de Salaberry, Quebec City (free indoor parking in Îlot Saint-Patrick), followed by burial in Cimetière Saint-Michel-de-Sillery, 2041 boul. René Lévesque Ouest, Québec. 

She leaves to mourn her children (sons- and daughters-in-law): Paul (Sylvie Massé), Marie, Pierre (Hélène Gagné), Louise (Michel Paquet), Anne (late Louis Boudreau), Suzanne (late André Julien) (Patrice Bilodeau); her grandchildren: Mathieu Blanchet (Maude Boulanger), Philippe Blanchet (Myriam Gouge), Charles Blanchet (Pierre-Étienne Girouard), Evelyne Blanchet (Michel Lapointe), Daniel Paquet (Valérie Couture), François Paquet (Kim Lachance), Mélanie Boudreau (Simon Bélanger), Stéphanie Boudreau, Jessica Julien (Étienne Hivon Vaillancourt) and Alexandre Julien (Rachel Giroux); her great-grandchildren: Isaac and Mia Blanchet, Noa, Talie and Alexis Lapointe, Elizabeth and Alexis Paquet; her brothers and sisters (brothers- and sisters-in-law) of the Sutton family: late Patricia, late Blandina (late Albert Arseneault), late Sister Alma, late Matthew (late Denise Desaulniers), Mary (late Gilles McKinnon), Raymond (Ray) (Solange Babin), late excellency Mgr Peter O.M.I., late Charles (late Irène Allard); of the Blanchet family: late Rolland, late Sister Rosalie S.B.A, late Cécile, late Jean (late Hélène Routhier), late Léo, Jules (late Georgette Blouin ) (Claire Comtois), late Égide (late Isobel Smith), late Bernadin (late Jacqueline Richard); and many nieces and nephews. 

A special thanks to the entire team of Saint Brigid’s Home, especially those on the third floor, of the Holland Centre and the CLSC Holland Centre who visited mother, to all her wonderful neighbours at McGreevy Manor, Rowena, Georges, Micheline, Anne, Ann and surely others we have forgotten. Thanks to them, our mother was able to stay in her home until she was 94 years old. Special thanks to two friends of the family, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Grenon, for their friendship and advice.
