Ted Gunn is seen on the far right (with letter C on his chest), preparing to rebound a shot taken by the opposing Quebec Seminary team, in this photo from the March 27, 1956 edition of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph. Other YMCA players in this image are Buddy Kinnear (left) and Maurice Bertrand (back).

A recent story in the QCT about the opening of a new YMCA building in Quebec City stirred the memory of Ted Gunn, a well-known figure in the city’s anglophone community.

Gunn, the driving force, along with his wife Louise, in the preservation and celebration of the city’s Scottish heritage, also has a celebrated history with the YMCA in the town.
