Central Québec basketball tournament a success, except for the bill

Several Central Québec School Board commissioners were unimpressed at having to fork out over $2,000 to rent space at the Base Valcartier sports centre for their annual basketball tournament.
The tournament, which changes facilities each year, was hosted by Dollard-des-Ormeaux School, located on the base.

Plans are in the works for a much-needed addition at Portneuf Elementary! Central Québec School Board commissioners voted to hire architects to look at some options.

Captain David Blair’s BonjourQuébec.com ice canoe team forged its way to the front of the line to pick up first place in the sport category of Sunday’s annual Winter Carnival race on the icy St. Lawrence River.

Wintery fun at Valcartier Elementary

The last week of January was full of wintery fun at Valcartier Elementary School. On Tuesday, Cycle 2 and 3 students travelled to Mont-St-Sacrement for a fun-filled day of sliding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Alison McBain, of the Cycle 3 class, described the trip as a “fun and active” day.
