Aymen Derbali, who was paralyzed from the waist down as a result of multiple gunshot wounds during the 2017 attack at the Centre culturel islamique de Québec, spoke at the vigil on Jan. 29 on behalf of the six victims and dozens of survivors.

Jan. 29 marked the fourth anniversary of the mass shooting at the Grande Mosquée de Québec, where six men were killed and many others injured in one of the deadliest acts of gun violence on Canadian soil. The I Remember January 29 Collective organized a ceremony to honour the victims and survivors, held outside the Centre culturel islamique de Québec (CCIQ).
