The Collecte Verte team consists of (far left, in blue jackets) employees of 1-800-GOT-JUNK; Myriam Roberge-Dion, general manager of Vent du Nord Communications; Jean-Paul B. Lachapelle, general manager of Desjardins Caisse des Rivières; Silvana Polacco, adviser Desjardins Caisse des Rivières; and future firefighters from the Centre de formation professionnelle de Neufchâtel.

Some 25 tonnes of waste are generated per minute in the province of Quebec. This is far too much! The goal of Quebec’s Waste Reduction Week is to raise awareness and educate the public about better management of their residual materials. We must learn to reduce our consumption, thereby reducing our waste, and send our recyclable unwanted products to an ecocentre.
