Remembering encounters with royalty in Quebec City

This photo, probably taken in the late 1950s, shows Prince Philip on the left as he inspected naval reservists. Bill Mylett said, “The guy in the middle is Rear Admiral Ken Adams. My Dad [Cdr. William G. Mylett] is the good-looking officer on the right. The picture was taken in Quebec City in front of the Voltigeurs’ Manège Militaire. At the time, the naval reserve unit HMCS Montcalm occupied the building to the left of the Voltigeurs [now the Plains of Abraham Museum].”

Local resident William “Bill” Mylett recently informed the QCT of his father’s meetings with members of the Royal Family, including the late Prince Philip, during his career in the Royal Canadian Navy, and sent along these photos. He writes, “My Dad and Mom met the Queen and Prince Philip on a few occasions when they visited Quebec.
