“Jim” passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, at the CHUL hospital in Quebec City after a long illness.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the Rev. Eleanore Gatehouse Johanson, his son David (Sylvie Fiset) of Saint-Ubalde, Que., his daughter Laura Rowlandson (Alan) of Ottawa, Ont., his son Paul (Shelley Osborne) of Lévis, Que. and his daughter Krista Beckett (Will) of St. Marys, Ont., 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mary (“Maisie”) and his brother Harold. He is survived by his sister Mary (David) Maxwell of Windsor, Ont. and brother-in-law Wayne Gatehouse (Daphne) of Guelph, Ont. and nieces and nephews in Canada, the U.S. and Germany.

A service celebrating his life will be held
on Saturday, August 25, at 11 a.m.
at Chalmers-Wesley United Church,
78 Rue Sainte-Ursule,
Quebec City, QC, G1R 4E8.
