Roberta (O’Hara) BRANION

It is with sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother “Bertie.” Mum passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 18th at Saint Brigid’s Home in Sillery, Quebec City. She was born in Belfast in 1922 and lived at home with her parents through the war until her departure for Canada in 1952. She married Robert Branion in a double wedding ceremony at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Quebec City in September 1952. Our parents settled in Lévis and Lauzon on the south shore.
We, her daughters, Jackie (Gaston), Karen (Bobby) and Lorraine (Brad) will cherish Mum’s memory, along with her grandchildren Andrea (Patrick), Michael (Michelle), Kaitlyn (Scott), Gordon (Jessica), Shannon, Tim, Jessie, Bethany and Bob; her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mayson, Eva, Abel and Zachary; her sister-in-law Florence and her nieces and nephews Fiona, Brian, Ailish and Mark; as well as many relatives in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
We wish to thank the staff at Saint Brigid’s Home for their loving care of our Mum these past eight years. Our hearts go out to you during these difficult months of having cared for the elderly during this pandemic; we are grateful to you all.
We hope to have a memorial service for our Mum at a later date.
“God did not forget you, dear Mum; your days were numbered, not one more, not one less.”
Should you wish to make a donation in Bertie’s memory, it can be made to either St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 45 Chaussée-des-Écossais, Québec, QC, G1R 4H4 or Jeffery Hale–Saint Brigid’s Friends’ Foundation, 2109-1270, chemin Sainte-Foy, Québec, QC, G1S 2M4, by calling 418-684-2260 or 1-888-984-5333 or online at amisdujhsb.ca/en

I am so sorry to read of Bertie's passing. She will remain in my memory as a valuable member of Saint Andrew's church. I especially have warm memories of our time with her at the art group. My thoughts are with the family in this sad time.
