Rouge et Or's star rookie quarterback, Hugo Richard, prepares to launch the football to one of his teammates. The Université Laval team beat the Concordia Stingers with a final score of 74-18.

Before the game started last Saturday, November 8, the question on everyone's lips was, "How will the Rouge et Or bounce back after the Université de Montréal Carabins ended Laval's record 25-game winning streak last week?"

Well, Laval showed us how, with an amazing 60-0 lead against the Concordia Stingers by the end of the first half, and then by playing their second string for the remaining time with a final score of 74-18.

It all starts with the quarterback. Laval's Hugo Richard is the first rookie ever to get the nod to play the position for Université Laval. Usually, they wait until their third year on the team.

The sensational Richard, a Mechanical Engineering student, has already broken several Quebec and Canadian records.

The Rouge et Or will play at the PEPS again next week for the Dunsmore Cup against Montreal. The Laval team is unbeaten on its home field at the PEPS for a record-setting 70 straight games.

Congratulations are also due to the Rouge et Or women's soccer team for winning the Canadian College Soccer Championship, first time for a Quebec team. They defeated the Spartans of Trinity Western 5-0 last Sunday.
