Sillery arena demo makes way for new housing

Rubble and the adjacent new condo complex can be seen through the former players’ entrance to the now-defunct arena.

Not much remains of what was the only indoor ice rink in Sillery. Though demolition was paused during the construction holiday, in the space of a week, machines had made short work of the Aréna Jacques-Côté, the home rink for scores of hockey and skating enthusiasts since it was opened by Canadiens legend Jean Béliveau in 1972.
