In addition to his famous dictionary of the French language in Canada, Louis-Alexandre Bélisle made many contributions to the business community of Quebec.

This street is named in honour of Louis-Alexandre Bélisle (1902-1985), who was born in Saint-Éloi-de-Témiscouata, a small village near Trois-Pistoles in the Lower St. Lawrence region, but who lived in Sillery (Quebec City) for more than 50 years.
