Survivors call for faster government action on gun control

On Dec. 6, 1989, a gunman walked into a classroom at the École Polytechnique in Montreal carrying a semi-automatic rifle. After ranting for a few minutes about “feminists” in front of the bewildered students, he started shooting. When his rampage was over, 13 students and one school administrator, all women, were dead, and 14 others were injured.
