OBITUARY

Geraldine Browne

1927-2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Patricia Browne at the CHSLD Saint Brigid’s Home on June 14, 2024 at the age of 97. Gerry was the daughter of the late John Howard Browne and Jean Leonore Carson. She was predeceased by her sister Gwendolyn and brother Frederick.
Geraldine worked for Bell Canada for almost 37 years. Along with her best friend Rita Brown, she volunteered at the old Saint Brigid’s Home, and together with her close volunteer friends they started the Saint Brigid’s Home Guild in 1968. She continued to be a member of the Guild and she was the treasurer on the board for many years. She volunteered for years at Saint Brigid’s Home, helping out in the dining room, taking photos of the residents during their activities, crocheting wool blankets for the residents and making jams and jellies. She leaves behind her nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Gerry is now reunited with her beloved parents, her sister and brother and her dear friend Rita Brown.

Our most sincere thanks to the staff and volunteers at Saint Brigid’s for their care and professionalism. The funeral will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 1145 Ave de Salaberry, Quebec City, on Friday, July 5, at 10 a.m. The burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery on July 4 at 10:30 a.m.

Donations in Gerry’s memory may be given to the Saint Brigid’s Home Foundation (Guild fund) by mail at 1645 Chemin St-Louis, Québec, Qc, G1S 4M3 or online at saintbrigidshome.org. The forms will be there on July 5 at St. Patrick’s Church.
