OBITUARY: Claire (Haberlin) McBAIN (1945-2024)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mom, Claire, on Feb. 29, 2024 at the age of 78. She was the wife of the late Derek McBain and the beloved daughter of the late Leo G. Haberlin and Ettie (Brigid) Bowles. She resided in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier.
The family will welcome you at:
Complexe de la Cité
1600 Le Gendre Avenue Québec (Qc) G2G 2W5
Friday, April 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier Church, 2333 Boulevard Valcartier, Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier. The family will welcome you at the church from 12:30 p.m. to receive your condolences.
A loving and devoted mother, Claire is survived by her children Kevin (Carrie), Kenny (Luce), Greg- ory (Delfina) and Darlene (Hugues); and her adored grandchildren Gabrielle (Guillaume), Alison (Jordan), Antoine, Liam, Ryan, Lindsey, Jamie and Zoë. “Nanny” shared with each of them a special bond that will remain forever engraved in their hearts. She was a constant support and source of great guidance, and her love and affection only grew with the recent arrival of her great-granddaughters Blake and Sloane, who brightened her life beyond measure.
Claire was the ever-present and attentive sister of the late Ralph and Frank, and is survived by her younger sister and great confidante Helena (late Peter). She will also be sadly missed by her brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Keith (Joy), Bryce (Beverly) and Dianne (Bob), as well as her many cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind precious friends from her childhood and her circle of lady friends known as the Dollies, with whom she cherished her frequent outings.
