Sept. 1 at noon – Musical Wednesdays concert at Chalmers-Wesley United Church, 78 rue Ste-Ursule in Old Quebec, featuring former Chalmers-Wesley organist Jacquelin Rochette at the keyboard of the magnificent organ. From Sept. 2-19, the Fête Arc-en-Ciel returns in a new hybrid format, with an outdoor exhibit at Place d’Youville and a series of online events, outdoor events and intimate gatherings around the city. Some events require advance reservations. For more information, visit fetearcenciel.ca/en.

Imagine Picasso, the immersive projection of more than 230 masterpieces of the artist’s work, is at the Centre des congrès de Québec until Sept. 8. For details and reservations, visit imagine-picasso.com.

Sept. 10 to 12 – The Quebec Celtic Festival returns with events at the Domaine de Maizerets, in and around the Grand Marché, in Old Quebec and on the festival’s social media platforms. Sept. 10 to 12 – Limoilou en musique features musical performances and street markets on 3e Avenue. For more information and to reserve your spot in front of the main stage, visit monlimoilou.com/enmusique.

Sept. 11 and 12 – Journées du patrimoine religieux. Churches and other religious sites throughout Quebec will be open to the public. For details, visit journeesdupatrimoinereligieux.ca/en/home.

On Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at Chalmers-Wesley United Church (78 rue Sainte-Ursule), as part of the Journées du patrimoine religieux, organist Danny Belisle will perform on the church’s 1890 Warren-built organ that was rebuilt and enlarged by Casavant Frères in 1912 and in 1981. The church will be open to visitors from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Église Saint-Dominique, 175 Grande Allée Ouest, will also host concerts during Les Journées du patrimoine religieux. On Sept. 11 at 3 p.m., Maëlle Le Dévéhat (violin and voice) and Robert Patrick Girard (organ) will present a concert entitled Se laisser bercer par la musique. At 7:30 p.m. Stéphanie Lavoie (soprano), Maëlle Le Dévéhat (violin) and Robert Patrick Girard (organ) present Beauté et réjouissances – Exultez, jubilez, entonnez de suaves cantiques! On Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. a family string ensemble, featuring Pierre Bégin (viola), France Marcotte (violin), Marie Bégin (violin) and Emmanuelle Bégin (cello), with the participation of Robert Patrick Girard (organ) present L’univers des cordes – La famille Marcotte-Bégin, une famille unique.

On Sept. 14 and 15, the Morrin Centre will present virtual storytelling workshops as part of its So the Story Goes project. Illustrator Sophie Casson introduces budding storytellers to the art of picture book illustration. A workshop for children ages eight to 12 will be held on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. and a workshop for teens and adults will be held the next day at 7:30 p.m. Both workshops will take place on Zoom. On Sept. 17 and 18, Arts Alive! Québec returns to the courtyard of the Morrin Centre, 44 Chaussée des Écossais in Old Quebec. The theme of the 2021 festival will be “street art” and the festival will gather together musicians, artists and artisans. The festival will present two concerts on Sept. 17 during which artist Maud Besson will work on a painting inspired by the music. The painting will be officially revealed the next day. On Sept. 18, the Chaussée des Écossais will be filled with local artisan tables, and festivalgoers will enjoy a concert, a workshop and various presentations by members of the community. Sept. 23 to 26 – Foodcamp will take place virtually this year with workshops presented from the Atelier Gourmand in the Galeries Gourmandes of the Galeries de la Capitale in Quebec City. You can watch each workshop online over a period of seven days and also order a box of ingredients so you can prepare the same dish from the comfort of your home. Sept. 24, 25 and 26 – Les Journées de la culture, three days of free public arts and culture activities throughout the province. Église Saint-Dominique, 175 Grande Allée Ouest, offers three days of musical performances. Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. – Marie-Andrée Paré (soprano) and Martin Dubé (piano) – present Quand les belles poésies deviennent chansons! Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. – Pascale Bourdages (soprano) and Robert Patrick Girard (organ) present Un beau samedi en musique. Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m., Tempêtes et Passions present Airs d’opéras célèbres with Marie-Ève Boucher (soprano) and Marc-André Caron (baritone). Sept. 26 at 3 p.m., the Martin Verret Ensemble: Martin Verret (violin), Caroline Goulet (cello) and Gilbert Blais (guitar) present Dialogue entre cordes frottées et cordes pincées. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
