Jeffery Hale lifts fourth-floor C. difficile quarantine

A month-long quarantine of the Jeffery Hale Hospital’s fourth floor was finally lifted last week after the C. difficile outbreak that prompted it was determined to be over. The floor was put under quarantine on August 15 after tests confirmed three cases of the nosocomial infection in the hospital’s long-term care wards. The quarantine was lifted September 12.

Envol et Macadam brings alternative rock to Saint-Roch

My shoes are dirty. My shoes are dirty because I am in the mud, behind a metal gate, trying to talk my way
backstage at the Envol et Macadam festival.

Held in Quebec City every September since 1996, Envol et Macadam is one of the town’s few alternative music festivals. This year, the concerts were staged at Ilot Fleury in the heart of Saint- Roch.

Port of Quebec has recordbreaking year

With nearly 27 million tons of goods handled in 2007, the Port of Quebec has had a recordbreaking year, jumping 15 per cent compared to 2006 and 75 per cent compared to the tonnage of goods handled in 2001. The news followed the release of the port’s annual activity report and audited financial results on August 29.
