Voter apathy prevalent among Quebec youth

On October 14, millions of Canadians in Quebec and across the country will fulfil their democratic duty by going to their local polling stations to vote in the federal election. Nearly as many – over 35 per cent of eligible voters in the last three federal elections – will abstain from voting, a number that has some seeking new ways to engage Canadian voters.

Jeffery Hale lifts fourth-floor C. difficile quarantine

A month-long quarantine of the Jeffery Hale Hospital’s fourth floor was finally lifted last week after the C. difficile outbreak that prompted it was determined to be over. The floor was put under quarantine on August 15 after tests confirmed three cases of the nosocomial infection in the hospital’s long-term care wards. The quarantine was lifted September 12.
