My year as a ‘Wasp’ playing hockey in England

With the encouragement of good friends from Quebec City, I decided to write about my year playing in the British Ice Hockey League.

I attended St. Patrick’s High School and then St. Lawrence College. I graduated from Université Laval in 1977, and was accepted for a 12-month master’s program in urban geography and planning at the University of Durham, England.

On February 18, some 20 students – singers, dancers and musicians – performed and gave it their all for cheering family and friends at St. Patrick’s High School’s annual talent show, St. Pat’s Stars

Arviat is a small, predominantly Inuit community in Nunavut, nestled on the western shore of Hudson Bay, where the polar bear, Arctic fox and caribou roam. It is also the breeding ground for up-and-coming young movie-makers.

On Wednesday, February 17, the Morrin Centre, with the collaboration of Heritage Canada, hosted a two-hour Elemental Theatre workshop led by Quebec Art Company (QAC) members Cheryl Rimmer and Mark Lepitre. The Introduction to Acting workshop covered the underlying principles and techniques of acting.
