No lack of snow for the Pentathlon des Neiges

The weather created quite an opening weekend for the 15th Pentathlon des Neiges. Professional and amateur athletes were up to the challenge to run, skate, snowshoe, cross-country ski and bike on the Plains of Abraham from Feb. 23 to March 3. This year, over 6,000 adults and children participated in 20 categories.

Morin-Doyle returns to Quebec City Hall after a long recovery

A serious accident has kept Michelle Morin-Doyle out of sight for more than three months. The absence was so long she was nearly out of a job.

The long-time Charlesbourg district city councillor and deputy mayor suffered a mishap back in November. Although she won’t divulge exactly what happened she did tell the QCT, “It was a bad accident, something that happened quickly.

New bus service announced between City of Shannon and Quebec City

Shannon residents may now use the public transit network as a means of getting around. As of March 1, a brand-new line will be added to the Transport collectif de La Jacques-Cartier (TCJC), and will connect to the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) network at the Wilfrid-Caron/Racine station, which already serves several destinations.

This street was named after Dr. Alexis Carrel (1873-1944), who was born in Lyon, France. His father died when Alexis was very young and he was educated at home by his mother.
