Ken Doddridge died peacefully with his family by his side at Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in his 80th year. He was the beloved partner of Helen Allen.

Auger-Aliassime ousted at Wimbledon, plus football and hockey news

L’Ancienne-Lorette’s Félix Auger-Aliassime was eliminated in the third round at Wimbledon on July 5. The 18-year-old was ranked 19th before the start of one of the world’s most prestigious tennis tournaments. The rising Canadian tennis star lost in three straight sets to Ugo Humbert of France.

The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity offers music at noon

Last week’s Midi en Musique concert at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity featured the beautiful soprano voice of Myriam Boutin. She was accompanied by pianist Valérie Timofeeva and Stéphane Fontaine, first clarinet with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec.

Three Capitales players at Can-Am League all-star game

Three players from the Québec Capitales were at the annual all-star game at Palisades Credit Union Park in Rockland, N.Y. On July 10, the Can-Am League all-stars faced the Frontier League all-stars. Unfortunately, the results of the game were not available before this issue went to print.

NCAA teams to visit the Rouge et Or men’s basketball team in August

For the 12th year, the Université Laval men’s basketball team will host two teams from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from the United States in August. The NCAA is America’s version of Canada’s U Sports.
