Athletes soar at the Big Air Jamboree
The Quebec City Big Air Jamboree was the event of the season. International snowboarders and freestyle skiers swooped down the giant 90-metre jump from the end of Boul. Honoré-Mercier into Îlot-Fleurie between the Dufferin-Montmorency highway ramps. From March 14 to 17, they performed their aerial acrobatics for cheering crowds.
Long may you play: Vinyl collection a “record” of life
Radio-Canada announced last week it wants to get rid of some 100,000 vinyl records from storage in its tower in east-end Montreal. The brand new CBC/Rad-Can building on the same site is supposed to be ready for occupancy in January next year, so the public broadcaster is shedding excess inventory before the big move.

Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor was on hand for the occasion.
Lightbound strikes back
The event at Université Laval to highlight federal funding of health research was officially ceremonial and above politics. Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor kept her remarks strictly formal and focused on the importance of research.

Parishioners celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with mass and banquet
As spring approaches, Irish people across the globe don their green and get out fiddles, guitars and beer for an evening of music, dance and folklore. And on March 17, the local community held its traditional annual banquet for St. Patrick’s Day in McMahon Hall at St. Patrick’s Church.
