The Secondary IV and V students of Quebec High School’s music theatre class staged their presentation of Beauty and the Beast last weekend, in the school’s Webster Auditorium.

Stuart Wright celebrates 90 with style

Stuart Wright celebrated his 90th birthday with style at the Quebec Garrison Club last week, surrounded by family and friends. The top hat, he explained, had been handed down to him by his father, who worked in the men’s clothing department of Holt Renfrew. Congratulations, Stuart, and may you celebrate many more! 

Quebec City Reading Council book swap

If you missed the Quebec City Reading Council’s book swap last week, you’ll have to wait a year for the next one. The annual event took place at the gymnasium of the Eastern Québec Learning Centre (EQLC) on Wednesday, May 11, over the lunch hour.

Festival d’Été de Québec has added 20 artists to the line-up

The Festival d’Été de Québec (FEQ) recently announced that 20 new names have been added to the program for this summer’s popular summer music festival. From July 7 to 17 Quebec City will be pulsing with music on outdoor and indoor stages.

The City of Quebec and the Réseau de Transport de la Capitale (RTC) have unveiled the finalists in the visual art contest La culture vous transporte (culture carries you away). Now it’s your turn to vote for your favourite creation.

Opened in the first half of the 17th century, this street was named Rue des Jardins in the 18th century. At the time, the street ran alongside the gardens of the Recollets and the Jesuit missionaries.
