Fiddler on the Roof – a QAC “Tradition”

Opening night is fast approaching for the Quebec Art Company’s production of the hit musical Fiddler on the Roof.

There will be seven shows only, starting Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and should be ordered well in advance at www.quebecartcompany.com.

St. Pat’s Juniors lose football conference final

Playing in their first ever Eastern Conference Division 2 final, St. Patrick’s High School Junior Fighting Irish were no match for the Condors of the Externat Saint-Jean-Eudes. They lost 51-19, on Nov. 2. It was the Condors’ fourth straight Eastern Conference championship, and they are still undefeated.

In the quiet after the storm last Saturday evening, lovers of romantic opera music gathered at the Chapelle du Musée de l’Amérique Francophone to hear Tempêtes et Passions lyrical singers perform excerpts from well-known 19th-century French operas.

The Université Laval Rouge et Or women’s rugby team defeated the Queen’s University Gaels 22-14 to capture its first USports national championship.

For the 11th time in the history of the Dunsmore Cup, the Réseau du Sport Étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) conference final will be between traditional rivals – the Université Laval Rouge et Or and the Université de Montreal Carabins – on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at Stade TELUS. The game will be televised on TVA Sports.

Lions basketball and hockey teams undefeated over the weekend

Both CEGEP Champlain–St. Lawrence basketball teams won their home openers on Nov. 1, while the hockey teams came back from the Abitibi region with two victories.

The women’s and men’s basketball teams played their first games of the season at St. Lawrence last Friday. Both teams were hosting the Cégep Garneau Élans.
